Bullying: Is Anyone Listening?
SHARP Literacy is a non-profit organization committed to enhancing student skills in written and oral language, science and social studies by engaging young people in a creative learning experience that highlights art history and the visual arts.
Each year SHARP picks a theme for in-class activities where students write and create artwork about that theme to be published in a book. The book is then distributed to a larger group of students and used as a workbook for teachers with the primary goal of increasing literacy.
The subject of bullying is something very personal and possibly traumatic for many students. The design of the book needed to be visually interesting and beautiful to keep the students interest but also needed to make very clear what pain is caused by bullying.
