Act/React: Interactive Art
Act/React is an exhibition of interactive art installations which pushes the boundaries of a viewers sense of space and existence. The title wall needed to immediately make the viewer aware of their environment and get them interacting with their surroundings. As the forboding gray wall repels the viewer the orange glow through the glass invites them in.
The negative space through the letters creates its own little “puppet theater” for which viewers can catch fleeting glimpses of the lives of those who pass through.
The glass was covered with a new high-tech paint manufactured by Protectapeel USA, Inc. The paint is sprayed on with standard professional spraying equipment and can go on any non-porous surface. When the paint dries it hardens like plastic and acts as a surface protector. Once the exhibition was complete the paint was peeled off the glass and all of the entry way hardware in a matter of minutes leaving no residue.
